Buy Tickets Here Robert Castelli is a master drummer and top educator from New York (via Barcelona). He brings a mix of Big Apple street funk with influences from Jazz, Latin, Brazilian, African & Eastern music together in a truly original way. This will be a hybrid event. Streamed live with the feed staying active for 7 days after the event. Castelli is a native of Ossining, New York, USA. Born into a family of drummers (a grandfather, two uncles & his father), Robert learned the basics from his father, who, along with his Uncle, were lifetime members of the NYC Musicians Union, By high school, having started private lessons as well as classes in music theory, he was playing professionally all over the NY/Tri-State area. He went on to study Theory & Composition, Piano, Guitar, Orchestra Percussion & Drums at the Westchester Conservatory of Music, State University of NY at New Paltz, and Drummers Collective NYC. Over the years he has studied with some of the most well known drummers in New York & the world including, Ed Soph, Gary Chester, Kim Plainfield, Tony “Thunder” Smith, Robbie Gonzalez, Robbie Ameen, Horacio el Negro Hernandez, and Joe Ascione. After several years in Austria, Robert now lives in Barcelona, Spain, where he continues to play and record with well known & up & coming artists in just about every style (Pop, Rock, Funk, Jazz, Latin, World, Musical Theater, etc.) from small clubs to small stadiums. His playing as a sideman has been written about in The NY Times online, Cadence Magazine, Jazz Halo Belgium, and Drums & Percussion Germany. His 3 Boom releases have received critical acclaim from some of the most widely read magazines and websites in the USA, Canada, UK, and Europe. He has played, with in the States, The Original Chiffons, bassist Lincoln Goines & keyboardist Bill O’Connor. Lincoln & Bill are well known studio musicians but are also known for being the rhythm section for late singer Jon Lucien & Flautist Dave Valentin. Being a vastly versatile musician, Robert shows the importance of playing a diversity of styles as he has played with Chiffons (a pop “Girl Group”), and the other heavy in Latin, Jazz & Funk groups. Founding ‘Trio of Boom’ in 2007, Robert has played with different configurations of ‘Boom!’ over the years, and continues to explore new musical territories as such. To get there, follow the directions to the PDCave here, when entered into the shopping Centre from the Car park 4 level 10 (or at ground level if walking from train/bus station) use the lift to level 2. The Kingfisher Shopping Centre Our History February 13th 1973 marked the beginning of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre with the opening of 51 shop units, offices, a restaurant, and two key stores, Boots and Sainsbury’s. By 12th September 1975 phase two of the development was complete. The centre totalled 144,000 sq ft and boasted an additional 32 shop units, offices, an Ecumenical Centre, an exhibition space named Worcester Square, and two more principal stores, FW Woolworth and WHSmith. The Worcester Square exhibition space was the heart of the centre. The space featured palm trees which were loved by locals and lead to the Kingfisher tagline ‘shopping under the palms’. They were central to the character of the centre and were a popular talking point throughout Redditch and its surrounding areas. Matt Green

With over 25 years of professional performing and 20 years teaching, the PDC’s Matt Green has the experience and knowledge which is needed for every aspect of playing. Matt has extensive experience working as a performer and still actively performs in the orchestral, rock, pop, jazz and world music scene which has equipped him with the necessary skills and makes him one of the most versatile tutors around. Matt has the necessary experience to teach all levels and abilities having previously taught in many schools and colleges. With his many years of experience in percussion teaching, Matt has developed various methods that makes learning fun, exciting and inspiring. Matt Green began his musical training at the age of three. At sixteen he attended Colchester Institute School of Music to study A Levels and later a BA Hons Degree, on the way winning competitions for solo and ensemble playing. Matt obtained a place to study at Birmingham Conservatoire, where he gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance with Distinction. During his education, Matthew was a member of the Britten-Pears Orchestra for six seasons where he held the principal timpani chair for five of them. Being as prolific at the back of the orchestra as behind a drum kit, Matt is also in demand to perform with premier Big Bands and Jazz ensembles in and around the Midlands/London and in the studio recording for rock/pop artists. Matt is working extensively in the UK, Europe and further a field playing with such orchestras/ensembles as City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, C18th Concert Orchestra, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Milton Keynes City Orchestra, Birmingham Opera, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Armonico Consort, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Nash Ensemble, Endymion Ensemble, The Bach Choir to name a few. Theatre experience includes the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe, Talking Birds and West End productions Jesus Christ Superstar, Abba The Show and Thriller Live. Matt has a passion for world music which has lead him to work with such artists as Ravi Shankar, collaborating between Eastern and Western musicians, UK’s leading nasheed group SHAAM and on the west coast of Ireland’s folk scene. In 2016, Matt was invited to play at the Queen’s 90th Birthday Thanksgiving Service at St.Paul’s Cathedral. He is also in demand as a workshop leader allowing him to perform to audiences across Europe and beyond. Matt’s commitment to education has also led him to coach on many summer music courses and he continues to give drum clinics throughout the UK.
