Postponed – John Bonham – The Rhythm of Redditch

A message from the Organisers; After careful consideration, the Council, along with its partners at ReNew, have decided to postpone the John Bonham event which starts this weekend. We plan to reschedule it sooner rather than later so that the current works taking place in the town centre will be completed. This will also give us time to work with all parties and stakeholders to produce a meaningful event for our residents and visitors. John Bonham – The Rhythm of Redditch John Bonham, Redditch’s legendary son, is recognised and celebrated worldwide as one of the most influential rock drummers of all time. On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March 2025, a launch of an unique digital experience will animate his Memorial Statue in Redditch, allowing visitors to see, hear, and feel the power of his drumming. They will also be able to visit some of the spaces and places in Redditch connected to John’s life and legacy. Opposite the Memorial Statue in the Redditch Library, PDC’s Creative Director, Matt Green, will be performing the ‘Genius of John Bonham’ on the reissued Ludwig Amber Vistalite drum kit and Bonzo’s Paiste cymbal set up to replica that unique Thunderous drumming sound. This will be throughout the two days at 11am 1pm and 3pm and is totally FREE. Additionally, Redditch Library will be creating a special collection of John Bonham materials from the Library’s Archive and Collections for visitors to view and learn more about John’s life. Below is a video of what to expect at the Genius of John Bonham
